Dr MacLachlan is a Senior Advisor, Policy & Advocacy, at the Center for Civilians in Conflict (CIVIC) where she leads policy formulation and advocacy vis-a-vis NATO and the EU, aiming to improve protection of civilians in conflict.

She is also an independent researcher and policy analyst on defence & security, governance, and anti-corruption with extensive research and university teaching experience in security and defence issues.

Previously she served as Regional Programme Manager - Europe; Research & Policy Manager; and Senior Research Officer, Defence and Security at Transparency International and prior to that she was an Associate Policy Analyst in the Scrutiny Unit of the UK House of Commons.

She earned her Ph.D. in War Studies at King's College London and her Master's Degree in International Relations and American Studies at the University of Warsaw.

She joined the Project CASA Advisory Group in March 2024.
