The Foundation for Global Governance and Sustainability (FOGGS) was established in Brussels in 2013 as a think-and-do tank, serving also as a research and ideas-generation centre, discussion forum, and advocacy mechanism on key issues of global governance, global sustainability, and global citizenship.

Key Activities:

FOGGS launched its Militaries for Civil(ian) Emergencies Project (M4CE) in mid-2021 following initial support from NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division. By the end of November 2021, the project produced:

• Desktop research on relevant arrangements in select countries and international organizations, published as a background paper including case studies on the Use of Military Resources to Address Natural and Human-made Disasters; 
• Dicussion jof the project in a Katoikos.world editorial; 
• Interviews with key stakeholders, documented in videos on the FOGGS YouTube channel and summarized in this article, and
• An online discussion with the participation of experts that took place on 23 November 2021, recorded here.

Project CASA builds upon the successful results of FOGGS’ 2021 M4CE project.
