Michaël Matongbada has more than 8 years of experience in human security, prevention and countering violent extremism, transnational organized crime, community conflicts, protection of civilians, military training, international humanitarian law, civilian harm mitigation and tracking, amends and strategic communication, and community-based protection in the Sahel and West Africa.
He is Coordinator, Sahel & West Africa Coastal States Programs with the Center for Civilians in Conflict and based in Bamako, Mali and has previously been the Team Leader Sahel & West Africa Coastal States there as well as the CIVIC Regional (Sahel, Benin and Togo) Researcher in Niamey, Niger.
Previously he was Researcher at the Institute for Security Studies in Dakar, Senegal and Program and office Manager associate -Peace and Security Centre of Competence for Sub Sahara Africa with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung in Dakar.
He has a Master's degree in Project and change management, Result based management (RBM) from the Alioune Diop de Bambey University and a Master's degree, Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) from the High School of Project Management, Dakar Senegal.
